This trek starts from Kathmandu with an interesting drive on the Lhasa / Kathmandu highway just an hour distance away from the Tibet border, and the then on the off beaten trail visiting nice traditional villages of Newars, Brahmins, Chettiries and Tamang tribes of people in the mid hills of central Himalaya region on leaving the villages in complete wilderness for few days in the midst of alpine woodlands to reach holy glacial pond of Bhairav Himal Kund.

Competitively a small lake fed from the glacier of Bhairav and Jugal Himal mountains the kund, pond is dedicated to destructive aspect of Lord Shiva (Bhairav) and this spot, one of the sacred pilgrimages place of Shamans, Hindus and Buddhist as well, on auspicious time pilgrimage to this holy pond, hundreds of devotees visits here for prayer, offering and to bathe in this pond located at 4,200 meters during the month of Bhadra (end of July or August) Full Moon of Nepali Lunar calendar.

On reaching Kathmandu international airport our AE staff will receive with a transfer to hotel in the hub of Kathmandu around Thamel area, an interesting place with shops, stores, international standard restaurants. Our guide will meet and inform you with details of the hotels and trekking and more.
Morning a scenic drive towards east of Kathmandu on the Nepal-Lhasa also called as Arniko highway, this interesting drive passes impressive towns and farm villages with great panorama of snow mountains from the hills of Dhulikhel town a popular spot with resorts, sunrise and views of the northern snow clad mountains, after 4 hours of pleasant journey reaching the diversion of Jalbire village and Nepal-Tibet border. From the main road our route diverts further north to Jalbire village for the first night stop, this is a pretty village of Newari ethnic tribe, situated on the bank of Balephi River, after setting the camp, with time for visit the village and to get into its local culture.
After Jalbire, the first walk of this journey leads to another farm village of Chanaute, starting the morning walk following on the nice pleasant path passing many Tamang farm villages with views of lovely cascading waterfalls, and then after a good of the day reaching at Chanaute village, a moderate village of Hindu Brahmins and Chettri ethnic people.
From this interesting village, walk leads higher up to much cooler area as the altitude pick higher leaving the rice terraces to alpine higher hills, starting the morning walk with a steep climb on a hill slope with narrow path passing many small farm villages and crossing streams, then finally ending today’s at Khani Gaon for overnight stop, this is a lovely village with primary school populated with Newar tribe of people and this village is also known as Dalle Pokhari named after a ‘small pond’ nearby by the school premises offering grand vista of Jugal and Langtang Himal mountains range.
Morning starts with a steep climb after leaving this nice Khani gaon village, then reaching the hill top into cool and pristine rhododendron, pines and oaks forest, today’s walk will be the toughest day of this trip but trekking through the enchanting alpine forest makes the difference in walking as the tree lines provides cool shade, the forest path leads through many summer cattle grazing meadows around this area chances of seeing some wild animals and bird life, as this places is less visited by trekkers and villagers except on auspicious time on pilgrimage to Bhairv Kund. After a good walk of more than five hours, camp will be set where the clean water facilities are around with good camping sites in the midst of this tranquil forest.
Trek today following a steep uphill climb and taking slowly with few short rest in between the walk, then reaching at the ridge top, offering spectacular panorama of surrounding green landscapes, rolling hills and valleys including the close range views of snow capped central Himalayan mountains, after enjoying the striking views then continue walk to Pati for overnight camp. Pati meaning in Nepali a shade or a simple rest house built for the pilgrims, who makes a yearly pilgrimage to sacred Bhairav Kund on auspicious day as per the Hindu calendar, the campsite offers fantastic mountain views of central Himalaya.
Today’s walk to our destination to Bhairav Kund and the highlights of this beautiful journey, morning on leaving Pati with a shelter for travelers and pilgrims, walk leads to the last climb with an hour reaching a ridge top, with striking panorama of Jugal and Langtang Himal mountains range wonderful landscapes, after enjoying the views walking on the winding level path for about three hours then reaching at our overnight stop in Bhairav Kund, here with time to walk around this interesting holy place.
An amazing spot for rest day for local hike to explore the less frequented on this mystical country, Bhairab Kund a glacial holy pond located at 4,250 meters. Where pilgrimage from villages visits here once in a year where the festival takes place in the month of August or late July as per the Hindu Lunar calendar, there is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Bhairav one of the many reincarnations of Lord Shiva and by taking a bath or a dip in this holy pond believing that it washes away the sins of a hundred life-times.
From our main destination at Bhairav kund, walk heads towards another village of Sherpagaon, after being away for several days in complete wilderness, morning walk leads to a a climb for few hours on reaching at top ridge offering glamorous views of Langtang, Jugal Himal range including mountains in the east of Rolwaling Himalayan range with peaks in Tibet just across the border. After a break with wonderful views then descending on the steep slopes for about six hours into beautiful woodlands and ending the walk at Sherpa Goan, a small farm village inhabited by Sherpa people.
Today heading back into more villages and farm lands, after being in complete isolation for many days, morning walk with a long descend through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests to reach at Bhote Kosi River, which flows from Jugal, Dorji, Bhairav Himal and from Tibet side as well walking by the river and to last camp of this trip at Larche just near the main highway and Tatopani village where there is a hot spring just close to the Nepal-Tibet border post.
After a grand trip to Bhairavkund, morning an hour or less brings to the road head for the drive to Kathmandu after completing this wonderful journey, the drive takes about 4 hours to reach back to hustle bustle city of Kathmandu, on reaching follows the city area, transfer to respective hotels.
A free day in Kathmandu with morning guided sightseeing tour at places of interest. Kathmandu city and the surrounding valley steeped with history, culture. Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites with old Temples, Monasteries, Stupas, Royal Courtyard and Palaces, afternoon free at leisure for souvenirs shopping.
