Trekking Introduction

Annapurna Circuit With Tilicho Lake Trek, one of the leading adventures in all Himalayan destinations, where this awesome walk leads you on the same trail of popular Annapurna Circuit Trekking, but with a difference. Where most of the trek leads on the same scenic trails, as our route from Manang leads beyond into a complete wilderness of mountains close to Tilicho and Gangapurna Peaks at beautiful and picturesque Tilicho Lake of emerald color that dazzles in the sunlight with the reflection of mountains.

Starting from Kathmandu with an exciting drive to reach Nepal Mid-West around warmer areas of the low Lamjung district, where our walk begins on following the raging Marsyangdi River most of the way upstream to Manang, the glacial source of the river Marsyangdi. An interesting walk on high green hills filled with lovely traditional villages of age-old heritage culture with the fascinating Buddhist religion, as our walk leads past Jagat, Dharapani, and Chame town to reach barren windswept terrain at main Manang village with superb views of Annapurna northern face with Chulu's peaks.

 With an enjoyable rest day at Manang heading beyond leaving the main trekking trail of the Annapurna circuit to reach our main highlight and destination at Tilicho Lake, on the least frequented route away from the main trails of trekkers. After a pleasant and mesmerizing time at Tilicho Lake head back on the main trail to cross over the highest point of the trek at Thorang-La above 5,416 m high offering a spectacular panorama of peaks and landscapes with views of the Dhaulagiri range of mountains.

 Walks lead downhill past the holy Muktinath Temple, a famous pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists as well, where the walk leads on the flat plain of Kaligandaki River valley to end our fabulous adventure at Jomsom town for a short scenic flight to Pokhara for the last overnight around Nepal Mid-West by calm Lake of Phewa.

Tilicho Lake & Annapurna circuit Trekking concludes with a drive to Kathmandu where our most memorable adventure of a lifetime experience concludes with a glorious time on high Manang valley and around beautiful Tilicho Lake. Season: Nearly all seasons except monsoon months of July to Mid-September wet season, March to May flowering time on hills October to January with a clear blue sky (can be cold at morn and night time with chances of snow)

On arrival by respective airlines where our guide and staff receive you for a short drive to your hotel in the hub of busy Kathmandu, with hotels in a quiet environment after getting a refresher in your rooms our guide will brief you on treks-hotels with necessary information.
Morning departs from the hotel for a scenic long overland drive towards Nepal Mid West journey leads past many farm villages and town and then leaves the main Kathmandu and Pokhara highway entering towards Lamjung district at Besisar town (headquarter of Lamjung areas). From here drive continues on the dirt road to Khudi, Bulbule, and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream, and through rice terraces to reach Syange for an overnight stop.
The first-day walk of the adventure begins with a climb after leaving Marsyangdi River below at Syange to reach Jagat village, a walk for a few hours to Jagat village with many lodges for trekkers. From Jagat village, our route leads on a winding path to Chamje and back to join at Marsyangdi River, and then crossing towards the forested area, with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, as our walk advances on a wide path to Tal Besi. A short stop for refreshment or lunch break, a few hour's walks from Tal takes you to Dharapani village for an overnight stop, Dharapani is a nice village situated on a junction of the Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.
From Dharapani walking on a wide winding trail into rhododendron and pine forest following the trail to Bagachap and Danque villages, and then an hour climb to Timang village entering within more Buddhist cultural villages with super views of Mt. Manaslu. From Timang a few hours trek to Koto and then reaching at Chame town for an overnight stop, Chame a large and headquarter town of Manang district.
With a pleasant stop at Chame town where the air gets much cooler onward as our walk leads close towards high mountains, morning leads into a forest of pines and rhododendron following the Marshyangdi River upstream with a few short up and down to Bratang village. From Bratang village, the walk leads to a climb up into cooler woodland to reach a ride top within a small area of Dhukure Pokhari with some teahouse and lodge. Overlooking views of Chulu’s and Pisang peaks, a possible lunch break here, and then an afternoon walk downhill to Pisang village for an overnight stop.
Morning from Pisang village catching views of Pisang and Chulu peaks with Annapurna II towards the south direction, from here altitude gains slowly as the walk leads into small forested areas with a short climb overlooking views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak. From the ridge top downhill to a valley at Hongde village with a small airstrip, from here onward tree lines disappear for barren, arid landscapes with a cold, dry arctic climate. Before Manang, visit the old Braga monastery where you can witness old Buddhist relics, ancient wall paintings, and frescos with grand views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour's walk to reach Manang village. Around Manang houses are built in the traditional Tibetan style, Manang people are known for their rich culture and traditions.
A necessary and important rest day for acclimatization before heading higher elevation to Thorang - La pass, at Manang enough time for short walks and to explore its interesting village and around the beautiful valley, Manang, a large village of the area located on the windswept valley by the bank of Marsyangdi River beneath towering Annapurna II-III and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and Manang Emerald Lake.
After the Manang village morning walk leads to another highlight of this trip, as our route diverts from the main Annapurna circuit trail reaching one of the last villages of Manang at Khangsar for an overnight stop that lies on the route to Tilicho Lake.
From here onwards around the dry and arid country, a morning walk downhill for some time, then uphill to reach Tilicho Lake for lunch and to explore the surrounding beautiful emerald-colored Tilicho Lake with incredible views of peaks that encircle this lovely spot. Tilicho Lake is a holy spot for both Hindu and Buddhist religions, after a wonderful time around Tilicho Lake heads back towards base camp for an overnight stop.
With fabulous memories and a wonderful time around scenic emerald-colored Tilicho Lake head back to Shri Kharka for another next adventure towards Thorang-La pass.
After a good time beyond Manang around beautiful Tilicho Lake, morning leads towards Yak Kharka, an interesting and scenic high altitude trek with a grand view of snowcapped mountains, then crossing a small stream river to reach Yak Kharka, a small settlement with views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.
As our walk advances head a higher area and get close to the base of Thorang-la, crossing a bridge and then a climb above Jarjung stream, to reach Thorang Phedi, after rest and possible lunch stop an hour steep climb takes you to our high overnight stop at Thorang High Camp.
Our tough and a big day of the adventure after early breakfast walk a steep climb to reach on top Thorang-la at 5,416 m, marked with thousands of Buddhist color prayer flags where a signboard is placed with the name and altitude of Thorang-La Pass. From the top offers spectacular views of landscapes and high snowcapped peaks with Dhaulagiri Mountains, and then a long descend takes you at Muktinath above 3,800 m. Holy Muktinath areas for the overnight stop, regarded as a sacred spot for both Hindus and Buddhists, the name Muktinath means ‘place for Nirvana or Liberation’.
From Muktinath, the rest of the journey is easy on gradual downhill hills with a big drop of 1,200m to reach Kaligandaki river valley, walking on vast windswept Kaligandaki river valley to reach Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang region with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River. An afternoon with time for a walk around Jomsom town, home of Thakali people within Kaligandaki River valley famous for apple orchards and garden as well for delicious apples and products like cider, brandy, and juice a delightful town for walks around the street with shops and stores.
From Jomsom, a morning short and scenic flight ending our final day of the great adventure, with an exciting flight to reach beautiful Pokhara for an overnight stop by the clam Phewa Lake. Pokhara is a popular touristic destination blessed with natural beauty and picturesque scenery of mountains-hills and lakes.
Morning an early drive back to Kathmandu on an interesting highway with the exciting journey as drive leads through rural farm villages and towns with views of mountains after six-hour drive ending at Kathmandu, then transfer to your respective hotels.
Your final and last day in amazing Nepal in the country of the high Himalayas with remarkable time and adventure on Annapurna Circuit With Tilicho Lake Trek, depart from the hotel for your onward destinations flying homeward bound.
